Today you're in for a treat with a visit from Author, Jody Hedlund

The second treat was when I decided to take the plunge and read a historical fiction. I hadn't read anything historical since Jane Austen's books started being made into movies, but that was over a decade ago. I chose Jody's debut book, The Preacher's Bride and learned that I like historicals! Who'd have thought?

Marji is a homeschooling mom with teenage twins left in the nest. She spends her days transporting to and from volleyball, teaching writing classes at a local coop, and directing the children’s music program at her church. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  3. Hi Jody, I had not heard of Narcissa Whitman until now and I would love to read a story based on her life. I read The Preachers Bride and really enjoyed the book. I think Kevin and Gwyneth starring in a movie about this book would be great. Both are great actors and Gwyneth looks a lot like the cover model. Thanks for stopping by to chat and share with us. Would love to win The Doctors Wife.misskallie2000 at yahoo dot com

  4. Thanks, Haley! Wouldn't it be great to have Kevin and Gwyneth star in a movie for your book?! 🙂 A girl can dream, can't she? And Narcissa's journal was fascinating, spelling mistakes and all! I love reading real eye-witness accounts of events!

  5. Kevin Costner and Gwyneth Paltrow would make a dynamic couple for your (would be)movie. I have read Narcissa's journal and loved it. I'm sure I will love your book as well. Jody, I admire the fact you homeschool your kids and find time to write! You are truly an inspiration.
