I’m so pumped about catching up with my ROW80 goals by the end of the week! What a blessing! Dealing with my rabbit trails (that’s what they called ADD when I was going to school) I get easily distracted by all sorts of things – music, dogs, people passing by, but most of all the little numbers that bounce up at the top of my 6-8 internet tabs.
Come back Thursday and I’ll let you in on the secret of how I worked through my problem! And I’ll let you know how my ideas are working!
For today’s update, I’ve topped 40,000 words. (I know I could just write 40k, but all those zeros look so cool!) I’ve stepped up my goal a little. I’d like to be done with this novel by the end of this month. I did 40k in 32 days. I only have 25 days left so I’ll have to do some hightailed writing, but I think I can make it, or darn close. My current goal is 1,500 per day, so I’m going to boost that to 2,000 and hope I can make it.

Author: Marji Laine

Marji is a homeschooling mom with teenage twins left in the nest. She spends her days transporting to and from volleyball, teaching writing classes at a local coop, and directing the children’s music program at her church. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  1. Thanks for the encouragement, ya'll. I confess, LS I'm moving slower this month than last and I'm not doing NaNo, but every day is a new opportunity to put my story to paper. We'll see what happens with it.

  2. Oooh! 40k in 32 days is really impressive! Granted, I know we're in NaNo time now, and that's 50k in 30, but the last project I had, I only had about 24k in that time frame, so nicely done! Keep it up, and have an awesome week. 🙂

  8. Thanks Keli! Not sure they are all good, yet, but I'm resisting the urge to revise! Will do some before my crit section next week, just so I won't get the same feedback, but am focused to finish it.
