Author: Marji Laine

Marji is a homeschooling mom with teenage twins left in the nest. She spends her days transporting to and from volleyball, teaching writing classes at a local coop, and directing the children’s music program at her church. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  5. Good for you on adjusting your goals so they're more attainable. It's tough to admit we set the bar too high. And I think the time-based goals are a great job. Smaller bits are always better.

  6. That's a good idea about time-based goals. At this point I've sliced and diced down to actual page goals. Pouring through one page at a time until it says what I want it to say.

  8. Revisions are really hard to estimate — not just how hard it will be but how much work you've done. That's why I'm using a time-based goal now. That way if one chapter takes me a whole week, but I handle 3-4 others in a single sitting, I still know when I've put in a good day's work.

Sure does help to have ya'll peering over my shoulder and thunking me on the back of my head! 🙂 So to speak!Got my work cut out for me today as I make yet another pass through Chapter 2 – total rewrite this time. But I'm determined to make it great. (And to get to chapter three before this time next week!)
