I Love a Good Mystery!

No Special Day Required

I have down on my blogging schedule that I share inspirational articles on Thursdays. But it’s occurred to me that the Lord is part of my life every day. And I often include Him in my routine posts whether the article is labeled “inspiration” or not.

The fact is, if He is part of my daily life, my writing circumstances, my family, and my stories, so I don’t need to set aside a day to separate Him from the rest.

I mentioned yesterday why I write Christian Fiction. You can see the article HERE. For the same reason that I write what I do, I also avoid preaching through my books.

There might be an aha here or there as the pieces fall into place for my characters – not unlike the clues of a mystery. But I don’t have a preacher or anyone else offering a sermonette during my stories.

My goal is to have the Lord present in the lives of my Christian characters. They fail and flounder, even forget their faith, but they recognize the way He works and are strengthened by His power and grace.

Since my goal for writing is to encourage women of faith to pursue God, building their passion and reminding them of their first love, I use realistic characters with flaws and crowns alike, who struggle to seek the Lord in the midst of trial and circumstance.

If I do that in my books, I certainly want to display the same in my blog. He is in all and through all. And that inspires me like nothing else!

Your turn: How has the Lord inspired you today?

She spends her days directing the children’s music program at her church and working with the authors of Write Integrity Press to put out the best possible version of their books. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  1. I’m inspired by the Lord in so many ways. Creation alone, when His word reveals something new to me. An inspiring moment for sure. That God of all heaven and earth would give me understanding. Me. Dust. A vapor. Out of sheer love. It’s inspiring!

  2. Each day is different. Today God may inspire me through my writer friend. If I am having one of those ‘I don’t know why I even try to write’ days, she is there to encourage me. It always helps. God places certain people in our lives for various reasons. Encouragement is a precious one. I thank Him for giving me encouraging friends who inspire me.

    • Ditto. And just when I get those “what’s the point” feelings, He invades my day with those very people offering messages that my heart needs to hear.

      Well-put, Carole! Thanks!
