My PINK PARTY is in full gear today and I’ve got a couple of SPECIAL GIFTS for you!

Click to Mix and Solve

The first is this goofy puzzle! I know, but it’s fun! One of those crazy random things that crawl through my brain at the oddest times. In celebration of our release, I found a treasure and thought you’d like to play along! I assembled the puzzle in 4 minutes and 11 seconds. Can you beat my time?

The second is the release of our new book!

YES! Heart Bouquets is now available on!

Okay, wait, that’s not really a gift. So how about we make Heart Bouquets FREE tomorrow! Through February 15!

When you do visit, make sure you “Like” our book! This helps in so many ways! And after you read Heart Bouquets, please consider leaving a review – just a few words works wonders!

And don’t forget to visit with all of the authors! To start out our freebie days, check out the TOP 5 ROMANTIC COUPLES on my blog tomorrow! Also tomorrow you’ll find a post about the TOP 5 ROMANTIC COMEDIES at blog.

And for my PINK PARTY, I have the other side of the story from one of my co-authors, Peggy Cunningham.

Meeting the Parents

By Peggy Cunningham

The teen years are always a challenge for parents. It wasn’t so with our daughter. She always did what we asked and never gave us any major problems. With that in mind, you can imagine the scene when out of the blue she said she had something important to tell us.

She was in her senior year of high school, a beautiful girl who just turned 18 and had never dated. She was involved in the youth group at church and participated in the group activities. When she went out, she was always in the church group and never missed her curfew––a real gem of a daughter.

So what was this thing she had to tell us. “I’m interested in a guy attending our youth group, and I want to date him.” It wasn’t an unreasonable request at her age, but the young man was a college student and three years older than Kristen. That concerned us a little.

The day arrived when she brought him home for the once over. Poor guy, he was quite nervous. At the first sight of him, we understood the physical attraction. Tall, blonde, and huge blue eyes with an athletic body––what young girl wouldn’t be attracted to him?

He sat on the floor playing with our dog. Then he said something that made our mouths drop open. Sitting there in his shorts all tan and handsome he said, “You may be wondering why I shave my legs.” That sure wasn’t on our list of questions. We held our breath. What was he about to say? “I’m on the cycling team at the university and shaving our legs helps us to gain more speed.” I’m sure our neighbors heard our sighs of relief.

He used to ride (cycle) 50 miles just to put a rose on our daughter’s car outside her school. They had a fairytale wedding in a beautiful park three years later and have been happily married for 17 years. And, they have given us four adorable grandchildren. A happy ending and yes, Chad still shaves his legs and competes when time permits, but not often since he is a dedicated and loving husband and father. Shaved legs or not, we love him, and so does our daughter!

Peggy is also a writer and has contributed to several Christian publications and anthologies. One of her short stories is included in Heart Bouquets releasing February 13th. Recently she signed a three-book contract with Pix-N-Pens Publishing for her Really Rare Rabbits series releasing in March.

So glad Peggy could join in the FUCHSIA CELEBRATION! Don’t forget visit with Lynda Schab tomorrow to learn her take on the TOP 5 ROMANTIC COMEDIES. And make sure you come back here for my pick of the TOP 5 COUPLES. Might not be who you would think. Oh and I’d love to hear your opinions.

Speaking of opinions …

Your turn: What did you think of your son or daughter’s spouse at first sight. Or what did you parents think of your spouse? Yikes, that one might be hard to admit!

Marji is a recently "graduated" homeschooling mom whose twin girls have blessed her by sticking around the nest for a little longer. She spends her days directing the children’s music program at her church and working with the authors of Write Integrity Press to put out the best possible version of their books. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  2. Oh, and funny story, Peggy! Glad he was shaving for bike riding!! 🙂

  3. Found out later that my sister (attending the same college as my boyfriend & me) was giving our parents reports on him! 🙂 All good reports, though, (except for the two times he drove her back to the dorm and ran over the curb….! 🙂 He is/was a good driver, just apparently not with that curb!)

Fun puzzle!! 4 minutes 28 seconds…. I’ll have to practice to beat you. 🙂
