In Chapter 1, Ruby faces a daunting task for a girl like her. A task she doesn’t want to embrace. In fact, she’d rather do just about anything else, even though it was her own daddy whom she trusted who asked her.

Have you ever felt that way? Sure that you are supposed to be doing something that you’d rather not be doing. You’re stretched so far out of your comfort zone, that you’re ready to pull a Jonah and run in the exact opposite direction.

Let me tell you, no matter how frightening, stressing, or draining your task seems, you will find more joy doing that task than you will avoiding it. You’ll also use less energy than if you procrastinate.

And if the Father is the One who called you to action, then you can be sure He will provide a way for you to do the task He’s given you.

Your Turn: To what task are you being called?

Author: Marji Laine

Marji is a homeschooling mom with teenage twins left in the nest. She spends her days transporting to and from volleyball, teaching writing classes at a local coop, and directing the children’s music program at her church. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.

  1. I love this post. I’m drawn out of my comfort zone so often, I’ve almost forgot what it is. Hmmm… maybe there’s a plan in that!

Thanks so much for all you’re doing!
