“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes!” Psalm 119:10-12
I can’t fathom being without my Bible. I’m so spoiled. I have a new digital Bible that I keep notes in. Love that I can view (and actually read) the things I typed in years ago. And I have an app for my computer so I can look up the verses when I only remember a few of the words. (Like this one!)
Yet there are still darkened countries where Bibles aren’t allowed. Where worship of our God is illegal and possession of His word is subject to execution. How He strengthens His people who live there. Make no mistake. They are there. Committed. Focused. And He will keep them in perfect peace because their minds rest on Him.
America is so richly blessed. How many Bibles do you have? How many copies of the precious Word of God. So treasured throughout the ages that the scrolls and then books were carefully protected and passed down from generation to generation. Does the very availability of God’s Word cheapen it in our sight? Do we take for granted the fact that we have use of the Bible anytime? Anywhere?
Praise God we live in a place where His Word is still sacred to so many. His statutes still adorn public places. Prayers to Him are etched in memorials and are part of our most important documents. May we treat His word with the respect and gratitude of our forefathers.
If My people … will seek My face …. He explained our part in this program. One aspect is seeking His face. And His part is making Himself accessible. Voila’ Bible. His Story. Who He is. How He loves us. What He plans to do. It’s all in there. He asks us to be faithful to seek His face. Spend some time doing that very thing every day.
Isn’t your relationship with Him worth a little time and effort?

I was inspired by a call from Billy Graham’s daughter, Anne, to spend the first 7 days of July in prayer for the United States. Her article is here. I hope you will join me in this challenge. Anne writes:
Pray! in the 7th month, July
Pray! on each of the first 7 days of July
Pray! and fast on July 7th for 7 hours
Our country so desperately needs to return to God. “Protect Your people, Oh Lord.”
