I Love a Good Mystery!

Dear Sis from the Caribbean Sea

***As promised, these emails were snagged off the virtual server of Brent’s sailing vessel and are presented to you one per day. Who’s Brent you ask? He’s our Love Boat Bachelor, and you can read about his daily exploits at Write Integrity Press! Don’t miss a day of his romantic adventure!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADear Sis,

I actually ventured out of my office today. I jogged the Sports Deck track. Amazing view up there. Had lunch on the Lido Deck and survived the buffet. Not the food. It’s delicious. I felt like I was part of a special buffet though with all the women staring at me as I ate.

I’m not the only man in this situation, though. I think a couple of other guys are somewhat shell-shocked. Totally unprepared for the intense interest they’ve received. To talk to them, they’ve never had much female attention in the past. I can relate.

Danny is still dancing through the cruise, though. I don’t know how he does it.

I finally ducked Patricia for good. She came in with her new beau for marriage counseling. I wanted to tell him to run, but settled for encouraging them to spend plenty of time together, getting to learn about the bad as well as the good of each other. I’m thinking, that’ll take the fellow, oh, about a half hour.

A new issue. In addition to avoiding all of the estrogen on this trip, I’m also having to dissuade the newly infatuated to wait before they start hearing wedding bells. As chaplain on the boat, I can marry couples, but I’ve already had to break it to the captain that I have no intention of doing so, not with folks who have only known each other for a couple of weeks.

He’s not too upset. And I don’t plan to make this chaplain job permanent. Although I can understand the draw. God’s richest beauty in as relaxing a setting as any place on earth. Have you considered taking one of these trips with Armin? I think you two would have the time of your lives.

You’re loving brother, who’s starting to yearn for solid ground again,

Brenton

She spends her days directing the children’s music program at her church and working with the authors of Write Integrity Press to put out the best possible version of their books. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.
