I Love a Good Mystery!

Day #30 – 30 Day Challenge

c28We made it! Everyday devotions for the entire month of September! This challenge certainly helped me. I know I missed my quiet time on one morning, but for the others, I enjoyed prayer and Bible study in addition to reading and discussing Thirty Days of Devotion with y’all.

I have found toward the end of the month that my normal Bible study hasn’t been enough. Most days, I’ve been doubling my study time and enjoying every moment of it. And that’s the point, isn’t it?

Some dear friends came into town last weekend. We got to have dinner with them along with several other couples, some of whom we hadn’t seen in years. At one time, we had all been very close, back when Dear Boy, who is now grown and married, was an infant. We had a great time sharing about our current lives, our kids, ministries, and hobbies.

I love catching up with old friends.

And that’s what quiet time is all about. We’re supposed to enjoy our moments in fellowship with the Lord. We’re supposed to look forward to the time and want to squeeze more in if we can.

My quiet time has changed during this month. What started out as a habit I wanted to firm up has become a delight that I look forward to every morning. And I missed it the one morning I couldn’t spend time in Bible study.

Your turn: Whether you joined us this month or not, how does your quiet time affect you?

One last song. This one of sheer praise!

  2. This has been a great month! It helped me get back into the practice of coming back to the Bible in the afternoon/evening. I always read and spend time with the Lord in the morning but then find some dump excuse not to read the word again. We need to eat more than once a day! So, I believe that we also need to read the word and spend another time with the Lord during the day too! Thank you!
