Warm Mulled Kisses officially released last week and I started a two-week celebration with all of the authors. Yesterday, we hosted the main character from Marilyn Eudaly’s novella, “Santability.” Today, we get another letter to Santa, but this time from Carly, the star of Karen Jurgens’s story, “A Christmas Mosaic.”
Dearest Santa,
Carlie here in Ohio. This is a difficult year for me, but I am trying to be good as always. I guess I am a little too old to be writing you a letter—now that I’m a senior in college—but I really need you to come through for me, just like you always have. Although these may be things you can’t pull out of your sack, here is my list:
• A good grade in chemistry—so I graduate with honors
• Time to organize Panhellenic’s Christmas dance (my sorority’s reputation is important)
• A date for the Christmas dance (my social reputation is at stake)
• A nicer roommate (for my sanity’s sake)
• A happy ending to my parents’ turbulent marriage
• A Christian husband (and patience to wait!)
I promise to leave you a plate of cookies and a glass of milk on the usual table by the fireplace.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas,
Carlie
