I Love a Good Mystery!

Bonus Feature: A GROOM FOR CHRISTMAS

Santa has his work cut out for him with this letter from Anne Greene’s heroine, Felicity, from “A Groom for Christmas.” But it’s not like he’s already had some tough jobs. Take a look at what the heroine from “The Gift Quilt” wrote to him yesterday! But Santa can probably take the pressure. (As long as the Lord is doing the real work!)

cover A Groom for ChristmasDear Santa,

You know I said ‘If I wanted to stay single I’d wait for the perfect man.’ but I’m already half in love with Ben Bonneville. The problem is he hasn’t signed up to be interviewed to become my groom. Thirty other men have applied. Men who’d like to have me pay their way to the Oregon Territory for the price of marriage. But not Ben.

And someone robbed Ben of all his money as well as his horse. I know he wants to go to the gold rush in California to pay off his mother’s medical bills, but if he signed up to become my groom, together we could farm that 640 acres of free land in the Oregon Territory. With the income from that property he could pay off his debts. Why is he so stubborn? Doesn’t he like me?

I’ve prayed for Ben to apply. Many of those other men who did are strong, healthy, and attractive, but my heart yearns for Ben. Christmas is a few months away, but could you give me an early gift? I really would like to marry Ben.

I know you are not real, and I probably won’t mail this letter, but when Daddy was alive he never failed to give me the greatest Christmas gifts. I wish he hadn’t died last week. I miss him so. The land in Oregon was his dream for us. And oh, Santa, I so want to see his dream come true.

Thanks, Santa, for whatever you can do.

Love,

AnneGreenebrushFelicity Daniels

She spends her days directing the children’s music program at her church and working with the authors of Write Integrity Press to put out the best possible version of their books. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.
