I Love a Good Mystery!

Fantasy Writer Finds Romance Riveting!

christmas cover bundleI’m continuing to learn more about my co-authors this week! I’m loving their stories! And today’s author, a fantasy writer, dabbles in a World War II romance! You’ll love “Riveting Christmas,” only one of the 10 novellas included in our Christmas romance collection, Warm Mulled Kisses!

Couldn’t resist the pun in my title today. LOL! Jackie Castle is not only my other writing cohort, but she also created the cover of our book! Didn’t she do an amazing job?! I have to tell you, I absolutely love her White Road Chronicles! To me, it was a cross between The Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. Outstanding for young people and adults alike!

Here’s a little more about my friend, Jackie.

What is your fondest memory of our holiday season? The food! Or rather, I loved watching the mothers cooking when I was growing up. I loved how they joked and laughed and enjoyed their time together preparing the big meal. And we’d enjoy the results of their hard work. Mainly, I loved that no matter what was going on in life, we all tried so hard to drop everything to spend time together at least on these days.

And when she speaks of “A Riveting Christmas,” she says:

I had two things I was going on when I came up with Riveting Christmas:

  • First was a scripture: Through your faithful prayers and the generous response of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, everything he wants to do in and through me will be done. Philippians 1:19 (Message)
  • The other was a bit of a song: You can’t always get what you want. But I found that, if you try sometimes, you get what you need.” -Nick Jagger

We have our own expectations of how things should work out in our lives, but not everything works according to our plan. However, when we rely on God, we might not always get what we want, but we will get what we need. And sometimes, it’s the thing we want… but perhaps not in the way we thought we wanted it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed meeting Jackie!

Author: Marji Laine

Marji is a recently "graduated" homeschooling mom whose twin girls have blessed her by sticking around the nest for a little longer. She spends her days directing the children’s music program at her church and working with the authors of Write Integrity Press to put out the best possible version of their books. Raised in suburban Dallas, she got her first taste of writing through the stories of brilliant authors of their day, Mignon Eberhart and Phyllis A. Whitney, and through stage experience. After directing and acting in productions for decades, Marji started writing her own scripts. From that early beginning, she delved into creating scintillating suspense with a side of Texas sassy. She invites readers to unravel their inspiration, seeking a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s Great Mystery that invites us all.
