I Love a Good Mystery!

Population 2!

IMG_20160627_113419Well, my kids are all away for the week, so once I sent my latest story, (GRIME FAMILY, which should come out in mid-July) to my proof-reader, I was ready to celebrate! But this celebration turned into a strange experience!

After hours of typing and retyping. Banging on the backspace button and typing again, my poor fingers always deserve a little love. So that’s what I gave them earlier this week. And I threw in some loving on my toes. Even though they weren’t typing.

IMG_20160629_175817I went to a local manicurist for a mani/pedi. Enjoyed a massage chair, got sassy toes, and elegant nails. And as my session neared the end, another lady came in and asked for the exact same thing I had gotten. Not really odd, but it caught my attention.

She caught my attention again when I went to wash my hands. “Nothing like a little pampering, huh?”

IMG_20160627_114049I agreed. “And my fingers are hard workers. I’m an author.”

“I’m an author, too.” She straightened, and her mouth dropped open. “I just finished a book, and I came to celebrate with a mani/pedi.”

Of the only 2 customers in the shop, one of possibly 200 salons in the area, both were authors celebrating “The End”? How likely is that?IMG_20160628_171031

Crazy, but it gave me an excuse to share my business card. *Big smile!*

BTW, My celebration didn’t stop there. I also got about 4 1/2 inches whacked off of my hair. I’m feeling downright light-headed! LOL!

Your turn: How do you celebrate an accomplishment?

  1. Funny, I’ve never celebrated the completion of any of my books! My next book (hopefully done by fall?!?!) I would like to celebrate by watching something fun w/ my husband (with popcorn of course, 🙂 maybe a special dessert. )
