Dagger in hand held forward pointing to the right

Though suspense is one of the best loved genre’s in both mainstream and Christian fiction, writing suspense has its own special challenges. Lynette Eason’s Newest Book!

1602 Feb CoverI had the most fun last weekend immersing in Lynette Eason’s newest book, Always Watching. I love the premise of this book! An entire agency of female bodyguards committed to protection in some rather extreme circumstances. Sort of a “Charlie’s Angels” spin, only the women are brilliant, skilled, dedicated, and tough.

Review: When the Smoke Clears

when the smoke clearsThe mark of an exceptional book is how well it stays with the reader long after the initial reading. That situation certainly applies with the book I want to review today. I read Lynette Eason’s When the Smoke Clears way back in May when I attended a conference in North Carolina and enjoyed a class taught by her. Snatching up the book at the on-site bookstore, I inhaled it waiting for my delayed plane and finished it up the day after.  Continue reading

Top 20 To-Read in Christian Fiction for 2014

I’m so excited about my list of to-reads this year. My first “writing” year, I concentrated on debut authors, enjoying their excitement – living vicariously. Last year, I tried to read books by friends and connections through the various conferences I visited. This year, I’m focusing on authors that I’ve already liked. I’m honing in on my own voice and style, so relishing potential new favorites will give me the opportunity to analyze why I like the books as I read them. I hope that I can not only encourage these wonderful novelists, but get more than enjoyment from the time I spend with their books. Continue reading
