I can’t believe at my age, I’ve never been the least bit interested in sailing. Until reading Elizabeth Goddard‘s new book, Love in the Wind. This book is such a peaceful read after the intense suspense stories that I’ve been indulging in. Love in the Wind is like a breath of fresh sea air. (Or breezy lake air as the case may be.)
The mark of an exceptional book is how well it stays with the reader long after the initial reading. That situation certainly applies with the book I want to review today. I read Lynette Eason’s When the Smoke Clears way back in May when I attended a conference in North Carolina and enjoyed a class taught by her. Snatching up the book at the on-site bookstore, I inhaled it waiting for my delayed plane and finished it up the day after. Continue reading
If you’re on Goodreads, you might have noticed my reading binge this weekend. I started a new book, Healer of Carthage by Lynne Gentry, that I was only able to put down through the first quarter. Once I hit the 30% mark there was no more book-closing. Yikes! At least not until 4:28 AM when I finally finished the story. Continue reading
The last book I read truly provided an oasis during a very busy time. Do you ever get that kind of stress? Like you’re a basketball going from one thing to another, always moving, always full of energy. So when any downtime came – and I mean ANY: grocery lines, carpool, dentist waiting room (just a handful of places I enjoyed over the past two weeks) – I pulled out this book and was wafted away to small town, south of Ft.
