Roughing It

ruffing itCan I be honest?

I’m not an outdoorsy type of person. I just don’t get the thrill of sweat and bugs and sunburns and bug and smoky fires and… oh, yeah. BUGS!

I’m not a fan.

My new, precious daughter-in-love is way into camping and hiking. Her folks have a farm, and being outside is a thrill for her. In fact, if she’s inside, she’s usually huddled under a blanket.

Epiphany! She’s terribly cold-natured. LOVES Texas summers.

I’ve lived here all my life, but nothing drives me indoors like bright sunshine and hot temperatures. Oh, and sweat. I think I’m allergic… to sun… and sweat.

And BUGS!

So I’m not simply a wimpy person. I actually do have a good excuse for my type of roughing it.

Boy that relieves my mind! 🙂

Your turn: Summer or winter? Beaches or Mountains? Swimming or Snow-skiing?

Mini Vacation – Need a Break?

This week, I’m focusing entirely on my novel-in-need. I can’t consider it a Work in Progress (WIP) because it’s technically done, but boy does it need help!

So while I’m doctoring my NIN, I need to let my blog take a rest. Haven’t done that in the two years I’ve been blogging, so I think it’s time.

How about you? Do you need a break? Scriptures tell us to take one – a Sabbath – and all of the Lord’s instructions are for our benefit. (And summer is a perfect time to change routines just a bit!)

Hoping the rest of your week is truly blessed! Next Monday, meet me back here to chat with Lena Nelson Dooley’s newest heroine.
